Laser Cutting FPC
Ultraviolet laser cutting machine or CO2 laser cutting machine can be used to laser cut FPC products. The difference between the two lies in the difference in processing effects. The UV laser cutting machine uses 35nm UV laser, which is a cold light source with a short wavelength and little thermal impact on the FPC material. It is processed by vibrating mirror scanning and peeling, with high cutting accuracy and no burrs or carbonization; the CO2 laser cutting machine uses 10640nm CO2 laser, with a thick straight focus and a large thermal impact, and the FPC product has a high degree of carbonization. Obviously, the UV laser cutting machine is more effective in the FPC processing process, but in terms of cost, the UV laser cutting machine is more expensive. Compared with traditional stamping processing, laser cutting FPC does not require molds, stress, carbonization, burrs, and high precision slowly erode traditional processing technology. At present, laser cutting FPC is the mainstream processing method in the field of laser cutting machines.
Laser Cutting Stainless Steel
Laser cutting of stainless steel is usually the common fiber laser cutting machine, YAG laser cutting machine and carbon dioxide laser cutting machine on the market, which belong to the traditional laser cutting type and can be used to process ultra-thick stainless steel materials, usually referring to stainless steel materials above 0.2mm. The laser cutting machine adopts a straight focusing head and blows air through the auxiliary gas for penetration cutting. For stainless steel materials below 0.1mm, a vibrating mirror is used for scanning to ensure that the material is not deformed, and there are no burrs, carbonization, or sawtooth on the edges. For stainless steel materials below 0.1mm, UV laser cutting machines, CO2 laser cutting machines, and MOPA fiber laser cutting machines can be equipped. Ultraviolet laser cutting of ultra-thin stainless steel materials is the same as laser cutting of FPC products, with the best effect, but the cost is higher.
From the comparison of the laser cutting processing methods and light sources used for the above two materials, we can understand that laser cutting FPC and laser cutting of stainless steel materials have certain commonalities under certain conditions, and can be processed using various light sources, but the processing effects are different. The processing differences between the two materials are obvious. UV laser cutting machines only process thick stainless steel materials, and fiber laser cutting machines cannot process FPC materials. Therefore, for customers, it is necessary to clarify the processing requirements of the product and reasonably choose the equipment that suits their needs.
