What are the differences between metal laser cutting and non-metal laser cutting materials?

Laser cutting machine has strong material application ability and industry practicality. It is an indispensable equipment for enterprise die cutting and precision cutting. Laser cutting machine is widely applicable, but we know that different materials are suitable for different laser cutting machines. Nowadays, we roughly divide it into two processing methods, namely metal laser cutting machine and non-metal laser cutting machine.

Metal laser cutting machine: The main processes are cutting, punching and engraving. Among them, it mainly cuts metal plates such as stainless steel, iron, aluminum, copper and some alloy plates. Among these materials, stainless steel is the easiest to cut, but it must be relatively thin stainless steel. Laser cannot cut too thick stainless steel materials. The maximum thickness can be cut to about 4mm. The cutting seam can be as narrow as about 0.1mm, but the requirements for materials are not high, the incision is flat and the verticality is good. For carbon steel, it can be cut a little, about 20mm. The laser has little thermal effect on carbon steel, so the cutting effect is very good. For high carbon steel, the edge quality of laser cutting is better than that of low carbon steel, but its heat affected area is large. For some alloy materials, most of them can be cut, and only a small part will be melted and sticky. Copper plate is difficult to cut with laser, and even if it is cut, it is very thin.

Non-metal laser cutting machine: Mainly used for fabrics, leather, acrylic, wood, paper, rubber, silicone, EVA, foam, sponge, glass and other materials. Compared with metal laser cutting machines, non-metal laser cutting and cutting materials are more extensive and more powerful. It is not limited by the size of the material, and can cut or engrave large or small products at will. The pattern can also be changed at will. The design is very user-friendly, and its price is relatively low.
