Battery shells are generally made of 3003 aluminum alloy. The aluminum shell of power batteries needs to be welded and packaged to protect the internal electrode material and prevent electrolyte leakage. However, the traditional welding packaging method can no longer meet the requirements of rapid development, and laser welding technology has a good adaptability to the packaging of power battery aluminum shells. What is the process of the battery aluminum shell laser welding machine? The author analyzes for you:
There are two main laser welding methods: side welding and top welding. Side welding has less impact on the inside of the battery, and spatter is not easy to enter the battery shell.
Because bulges will be produced after welding, which will have a certain impact on the assembly of subsequent processes, the side welding process has very high requirements for the stability of the laser and the cleanliness of the material. However, since the top welding process is welded on one side, the integration requirements of the welding equipment are relatively low, and mass production is simple, but there are also two disadvantages. One is that a small amount of spatter may enter the battery cell during welding, and the other is that the aluminum shell processing requirements of the power battery aluminum shell are high, causing cost problems.
The most important process in the battery welding process is the packaging of the shell, which is divided into upper and lower parts according to the different welding positions. Some power battery manufacturers use the "deep drawing" process to manufacture the aluminum shell of the power battery due to the small volume of the battery they produce, so only the upper cover needs to be welded.
Because the power battery cell follows the principle of "lightness", in addition to using "light" aluminum, it also needs to be made "thinner". Generally, the shell, cover, and bottom are required to be less than 1.0 mm. The thickness of the basic materials of mainstream manufacturers is currently around 0.8 mm.
Battery aluminum shell laser welding process, share here. The battery is encapsulated in an aluminum shell with a wall thickness of 0.8mm. It is laser welded with very good quality, stable power, and high power. It is used for welding power battery aluminum shells with very good results.
