In daily production work, we may process various metal materials. The issues that need to be paid attention to when processing two different metal materials are also different. What are the specific situations?

Now the metal materials that need to be processed by laser die cutting machine are mainly the following:

1. Titanium and alloys: Pure titanium can couple the laser beam well to convert heat energy. When supplemented with oxygen, the chemical reaction is strong and the cutting speed is fast, but it is easy to produce an oxide layer in the cutting process, which may cause overburning accidentally. For the sake of stability, it is best to use air as the auxiliary gas to ensure the cutting quality. Titanium alloys commonly used in laser cutting have good cutting quality in the aviation industry. Although there is a small amount of sticky slag at the bottom of the cutting, it is easy to remove.

2. Nickel alloys: Nickel alloys are also called super alloys, and there are many types. Most of them can be cut by oxidation melting.

3. Carbon steel: Modern laser cutting machines can cut a maximum thickness of 20MM. Using the oxidation melting cutting mechanism, the cutting seam of carbon steel cutting is within a satisfactory width range, and the cutting seam can be as narrow as 0.1MM.

4. Stainless steel: For the manufacturing industry with stainless steel thin plates as the main components, laser cutting is an effective processing tool. Strictly controlling the heat input measures in the laser cutting process can limit the edge heat affected zone to a very small range, thereby effectively maintaining the good corrosion resistance of such materials.

5. Alloy steel: Most alloy structural steels and alloy tool steels can obtain good edge quality by laser cutting. For some high-strength materials, as long as the process parameters are well controlled, it is possible to cut the edges without sticking slag. However, for tungsten-containing high-speed steel and hot mold steel, laser cutting machines will produce melting and sticking slag during processing.

6. Aluminum and alloys: Aluminum cutting belongs to the melting laser cutting mechanism. The auxiliary gas used is mainly used to blow away the melt from the cutting area, and usually good cutting quality can be obtained. For some aluminum alloys, care should be taken to prevent intergranular microcracks from appearing on the cutting surface.

7. Copper and alloys: Fundamentally speaking, CO2 laser beams cannot cut pure copper (red copper) because the reflectivity is too high. Using higher laser power (copper alloy) auxiliary gas or oxygen can enable thinner plates to be cut.
