Laser layer cutting application of flexible film packaging

In modern society, there are diverse consumer groups and diverse consumer demands. All flexible packaging films on the market are stacked with multiple layers of film, each layer is about 10 microns thick, and each layer has different functions, such as PET has high rigidity and good confidentiality; PE has good heat sealing performance and strong tearing resistance; PP has good water vapor barrier performance; aluminum foil is often used for light blocking sealing; paper can usually protect the film well. Laser layer cutting refers to the selective cutting of a certain film layer without affecting the functions of other films. For example, a micro-cutting of a certain high-strength film layer can form a structure that is easy to open, but because the cut is small, it does not affect the appearance of the package. Although the mechanical scratching or mechanical punching methods of plastic film are fast and quite simple, neither can distinguish different film layers.

The results of mechanical scratching or mechanical punching are:

1. If the scratch depth is too small, even the mechanically made layer of the film is not completely cut open;

2. If the scratch depth is too large, the light-blocking layer and the water vapor-blocking layer will be damaged. Therefore, people have been looking for a reliable processing technology that makes the cutting more delicate and selective. They can select the layers of plastic film, which are all achieved with laser cutting machines.
